Rare black slate teaching globe

c.
1950

Full title

Published by

Exceptionally rare vintage scientific globe, most likely from the 50's  with chalkboard like surface (slate surface) was used in elementary schools to teach pupils world geography. The equatorial, tropical and polar circles, prime meridian and International Date Line are delineated in yellow or blue colours. The continents and islands are outlined in vivid red lines.

These black globes are very hard to find (I challenge you to find at least one online) and present very desirable collectable item.

Condition

Good condition with minor flaws. There is a small area on the globe (in the area of Arabic peninsula) where the surface is pealed off a little bit as you can see in the photos. The globe is rotating well. The globe's axis is leaning towards one side a little bit. Also there is a little chip in the base which can be seen in the photos.
